Who we are

As an Associate with Hardcastle & Associates, Frances Tanner brings extensive experience in partnership development, stakeholder engagement and programme delivery across higher education, industry and the voluntary sector.
She has a strong track record in building effective relationships that support strategic outcomes and deliver tangible commercial and community impact. During her time at the University of Exeter, Frances worked across business engagement and innovation initiatives, developing regional networks and strengthening connections between universities, businesses and support organisations. This included establishing a multi-partner business forum and delivering targeted SME engagement programmes across a range of sectors.
Her experience also spans major commercial and regeneration projects, including her role with Leavesden Developments during the redevelopment of the film and television studio site, now home to Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter, where she developed strong skills in stakeholder coordination, programme delivery and industry liaison in a fast-paced environment.
Frances supports H&A’s work through targeted research and insight, identifying and mapping relevant organisations, partners and networks to support informed decision-making and effective relationship building.
She also has extensive experience in events design and delivery, from SME engagement sessions and sector programmes through to larger multi-partner events involving complex stakeholder groups, combining strategic design with hands-on delivery. She was closely involved with the Totnes & District Show Society for over 25 years, including as a trustee, Director, and in earlier roles as its elected Chair and President, contributing to the leadership and delivery of a well-established regional event.
Frances brings a practical, delivery-focused approach and a clear understanding of how organisations work together to achieve shared objectives.
Outside work, she is usually found outdoors, walking her muddy dogs or attempting to keep on top of an enthusiastic weed population in her garden.
